What is Celebrate Recovery?
We've all been hurt by other people, we've hurt ourselves, and we've hurt others. As a result, every single one of us ends up with some sort of hurt, habit, or hang-up.
The question we all face is, "Where do we go from here?" The purpose of the Celebrate Recovery ministry at First Baptist Church Odessa is to fellowship and celebrate God's healing power in our lives the the "8 Recovery Principles." This experience allows us to "be changed".  We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another. In addition, we become willing to accept God's grace in solving our lives' problems. By working and applying these biblical principles, we began to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy and most importantly a stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through the program we discover our personal, loving, and forgiving Higher Power--Jesus Christ, the one and only true Higher Power.

WHAT IS CELEBRATION PLACE?
We  have  learned  in Celebrate  Recovery  that  when  one  family  member struggles  with  a hurt,  habit,  or  hang-up,  it  affects  the  entire  family.  Celebration  Place  is  a  safe place  for  children and  is  designed  to  equip  kids  with  practical  coping  techniques,  strategies,  and  values  to  help  them  overcome  life’s  challenges.
Celebration  Place  uses  music,  worship,  object  lessons  and  small  groups  to  meet  the  needs  of  children ages 5-12.  It  works  hand-in-hand  with  Celebrate  Recovery  large group  teachings.  So  while  adults  explore  topics  that  bring  healing  and  wholeness,  kids  discover  the  same  truths  in  age  appropriate  ways.
Families  benefit  because  they  can  talk  about  a  topic  when  they  go  home.  The  purpose  of  Celebration  Place  is  to
prepare  kids  to  deal  with  anything  and  everything  life  might  throw  at  them—now  or  in  the  future.  We  consider  Celebration  Place  a  “pre-covery” program.
